Navaratri – Day 4 – Dedicated to Goddess Kūṣmāṇḍā

maa-kushmanda

सुरा सम्पूर्ण कलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च।
दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु ते॥

surā sampūrṇa kalaśaṁ rudhirāplutameva ca |
dadhānā hastapadmābhyāṁ kūṣmāṇḍā śubhadāstu te ||

surā – nectar of immortality, sampūrṇa – full, kalaśaṁ – pot, rudhirāpluta – blood, eva – exclusively, ca – and, dadhānā – holding, hastapadmābhyāṁ – lotus like hands, kūṣmāṇḍā – Mother kūṣmāṇḍā, śubhadāstu  – be auspicious, te – you.

May Goddess Kūṣmāṇḍā, who with her lotus like hands, holding two full pots containing nectar of immortality and blood respectively, be auspicious upon me.
